I am a Chartered Landscape Architect with over 20 years experience in environmental consultancy. I am experienced in designing and implementing schemes for public parks, play areas, community schemes and public realm.
I draw at work and at home, by myself and with the family. I am largely self-taught and have the simple aim to draw more and keep improving.
Drawing philosophy
One of the attractions of my work is the opportunity to draw. I have always found drawing to be deeply engaging and rewarding. As a child I would try to copy and get things just right, but over time I am learning to push things further and not worry so much about the final output.
I believe that drawing is a very personal way of communicating and should be celebrated as such, rather than being seen as something that people can or cannot do. Drawing presents an opportunity to express yourself. At times this can feel difficult and frustrating, but I have found that the more you draw the more natural it becomes. When I draw nothing else exists except the rhythm of pen on paper.
I would encourage anyone to draw for a happy and healthy life!
