I really enjoy doing quick sketches for 2 minutes then 5 minutes at a time. You have to be really quick and that is often when I find you can capture the real essence of the subject in the simplest of lines.
During the Covid lockdown I have been doing this more and more with the kids – they really enjoy it too – and helps to bring a bit of calm, if only for a short while!
